GUIDE
Choose a focused source, practice in the mode that fits, and let each review shape what comes next.
Use Words to practice on Learn or Writing before starting a round.
Select one or more topic decks. Each word belongs to one topical deck, so your source stays predictable.
Narrow the pool to A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, or unassigned words.
Set the number of words or questions for the next round. The app saves this preference for you.
Each mode uses your current deck, level, type, and round-length choices.
See the German word, its article, English meaning, and any available hint together. Finishing a card introduces it to your learning progress.
Try to recall the meaning first. Tap the card to reveal it, then choose Again, Good, or Easy. Your rating decides when it returns.
Choose Meanings, Articles, or Mixed. Meaning questions work German → English, English → German, or both. Article colours appear only after you answer.
Type the German word from its meaning. Nouns use a separate article choice. You have two attempts and get helpful feedback for umlauts, ß, one-letter errors, and capitalization.
Be honest with your recall. A difficult word stays in your practice cycle instead of being treated as learned.
The layout adapts to the space available.
The compact mobile layout opens by default. Your browser’s “Request Desktop Website” option can show the desktop layout when you need it.
When added to a home screen, the app uses the appropriate phone or tablet layout for iOS and Android.
Choose System, Light, or Dark in Account. System follows your device automatically.
Help keep the shared vocabulary useful for everyone.
Search in German or English. If there is no result, you can suggest a new word. For an existing word, use Suggest correction from its detail card.
Add up to 20 words in one request. The form flags likely German-word matches before submission, and Your submissions shows each review status.
Choose whether to show your name when a word is approved. Only opted-in contributors appear on the Top contributors list.
